The Science of a Healthy Future:

Pushing the boundaries

At VDL Groep, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible, helping to make the world faster and more precise. Our high-tech equipment and modules, developed and produced in-house, are accurate to the nanometer.

VDL is a provider of advanced technology equipment for the semiconductor, analytical, and health industries. Our presence spans the entire healthcare ecosystem, from birthing aids to cutting-edge operating room equipment. We are specialized in manufacturing chip machine modules and are responsible for the development and production of the vacuum chamber, which generates EUV light.

We have not only positioned ourselves as a manufacturing company but also as a development company, thanks to the efforts of our engineers. This has made us an essential player in the industry, fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange among our partners and within our own VDL companies. Additionally, we have established deep partnerships and knowledge-sharing relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers, and knowledge institutes.

Through these alliances and our dedicated workforce, we are committed to building a healthier and more intelligent world. Every day, we work hand-in-hand with our partners, suppliers, clients, and employees to achieve this collective vision.

ELECTRON MICROSCOPE

The electron microscope made by VDL ETG Precision uses electrons to magnify objects that are in the micrometer and nanometer range up to 10 million times, giving researchers an unprecedented and detailed view of even individual atoms.

From the minuscule mites on our skin to the inner workings of our bodies, electron microscopy has allowed us to observe the struggles of our immune system against diseases, the complex formation of blood clots, how disease-ridden cells can cause damage to our health, and the intricate ecosystem of bacteria that inhabits our bodies. Furthermore, by exhibiting the structure of materials at the nanoscale, electron microscopy has provided a way to ascertain the correlation between material composition, structure, and performance. This knowledge has been used to create various advances, such as smaller and faster computers, chemical sensors, targeted drug delivery, high-performance materials, water filters, and more.

Unlock the Mysteries of the Universe with

The World's Biggest Eye on the Sky

The clue lies in the name of this telescope, because it’s extremely big! It is also called The world's biggest eye on the sky and has the size of a football stadium. It will be located in Northern Chile at the top of Cerro Armazones, at a height of 3 km! It should be operational by 2027. That the construction of the telescope has a lot of obstacles is an understatement. The 'eye' of the telescope consists, among other things, of 798 hexagonal mirrors of 1.4 meters in size and 5 centimeters thick, designed by VDL ETG.
